If you do not get the mix right or use an acceptable product or install it properly your results will be less than optimum.
Ditra not sticking to floor.
This allows the cement to properly hydrate resulting in a strong dense bond coat.

I don t see a scenario where ditra can be blamed for a tile failure.

Since ditra is impervious it does not deprive the mortar of its moisture.
When installing heated tile floors with ditra heat mat or ditra heat tb there s two instructions that i would encourage you to avoid.
While ditra is my preferred membrane for floor tile installation as well as countertops and tub decks it absolutely needs to be installed correctly.
In general we don t recommend the use of modified thin set mortar to set tile over the membranes because these mortars must air dry to cure properly.
If it doesn t stick to the floor it s the fault of the installer for using the wrong thinset or not applying it correctly.
Using a thin set mortar that is suitable for the substrate apply the thin set mortar mixed to a fairly fluid consistency but still able to hold a notch using a 1 4 x 3 16 6 mm x 5 mm or 5 16 x 5 16 8 mm x 8 mm v notched trowel.
Another reason would of course be too much deflection in the subfloor or bad prep.
The two main techniques for this are fairly simple.
Make sure the cavities waffles are filled correctly install it over an approved substrate and with the correct type of thinset mortar.
In some applications the vertical section of the floor wall transition will not accept a bond to schluter set schluter all set schluter fast set or unmodified thin set mortar.
