Therefore i was considering the construction of a gaming mat to be used on our existing dr table and or our kitchen bar island.
If you use quilting cotton you may need 4 yards 2 yards for each side.
I am going to try painting then directly onto the mat and try another approach of cutting them out as free standing pieces that can be laid over a standard mat.

The terrain i use is with modular polystyrene blocks shaped so that i can make hills and valleys or river sections and then place a gaming mat over the top.
